Title Block
- TB-NUMCritical
Drawing number present
The title block must contain a unique drawing/part number.
- TB-REVMajor
Revision level recorded
A revision letter/number and date must be recorded in the title block.
- TB-SCALEMinor
Drawing scale stated
The drawing scale (e.g. 1:1, 1:2) must be stated in the title block.
- TB-UNITMajor
Units of measurement specified
Units (mm or in) must be declared so dimensions are unambiguous.
Dimensioning
- DIM-FULLCritical
All features fully dimensioned
Every manufacturable feature must be dimensioned; no missing sizes.
- DIM-DUPMajor
No duplicate or over-dimensioning
A feature must not be dimensioned twice with conflicting values.
- DIM-DATUMMajor
Dimensions reference a clear datum
Dimensions should originate from a consistent datum, not chain-stacked.
- DIM-ENVMinor
Overall envelope dimensions present
Overall length/width/height envelope dimensions must be shown.
Tolerancing
- TOL-GENCritical
General tolerance note present
A general tolerance note (e.g. ISO 2768-m) must cover untoleranced dims.
- TOL-CRITMajor
Critical dimensions individually toleranced
Fit/mating dimensions must carry explicit tolerances, not just general.
- TOL-STACKMajor
Tolerance stack-up within feasible range
Chained tolerances must not accumulate beyond a manufacturable band.
GD&T
- GDT-DATUMMajor
Datum features identified
Datum reference features (A/B/C) must be defined where GD&T is used.
- GDT-FCFMajor
Feature control frames complete
Each control frame must specify symbol, tolerance value, and datums.
Holes & Threads
- HOLE-DIAMajor
Hole callouts specify diameter and depth
Every hole callout must give a diameter and a depth (or THRU).
- HOLE-THDMajor
Threaded holes specify thread designation
Tapped holes must carry a thread designation (e.g. M6×1.0, depth).
- HOLE-CBOREMinor
Counterbore / countersink fully specified
Counterbore/countersink callouts must give diameter and depth/angle.
Material & Finish
- MAT-SPECCritical
Material specification present
The part material (grade/standard) must be specified on the drawing.
- MAT-FINMajor
Surface finish (roughness) specified
Functional surfaces must carry a surface-roughness callout (e.g. Ra).
- MAT-HTMinor
Heat treatment / coating noted where required
Where the design implies it, heat treatment or coating must be noted.
Features & Standards
- STD-EDGEMinor
Sharp edges have chamfer or break callout
Exposed sharp edges should carry a chamfer or edge-break note.
- STD-FILLETMinor
Internal corners specify fillet radius
Internal corners must specify a fillet radius for machinability.
- STD-DRAFTMinor
Draft angle specified on cast/molded features
Cast or molded walls should specify a draft angle where applicable.
Views & Annotations
- VIEW-LBLMinor
Section and detail views are labeled
Section/detail views must be labeled and cross-referenced (A-A, etc.).
- VIEW-PROJMinor
Projection method symbol present
The first/third-angle projection symbol must appear on the sheet.
